Finally here
So this is the latest version release of the game V1.3 I have made a lot of progress since the last update all of which will be listed below along with videos to everything showing off the work.
So I will take a brake from this game for a bit and focus on some other stuff (mostly working on my modeling//sculpting ) this update is big enough it will give me the time for it. I will continue to work on this in the future as I have a lot of ships planned to be put into the simulator.
The updates -
New AI -- system that is a little bit less intensive on the system although some older PC models will possibly still struggle but with my mid range machine I get just under 50 fps with 100 AI flying around. You are still able to adjust the number of AI on screen with in the options section of the main menu as the default is now 100.
-- The AI also choose a random ship from all but the auzatick gunship for now. they also all pick a different skin for them selves from the list of skins that you can choose.
More Skins -- Every ship now has 5 different skins to choose from and as I do more work and get more ideas I will do more of these skins.
Updated Meshes -- both the mon calimari star cruiser and the star destroyer have had there models updated. they are still just floating bricks currently but will have more to do later on down the line.
Updated Ship Mechanics -- a lot of behind the scenes work in this update from small things like reducing the the jump between blueprints. but a couple of things to note is that each ship has a different health the tie fighter being the least and the gunship being the most. along side that the ships now have a secondary fire activated by the second mouse key. apart from the Protectorate Star fighter as it does not have one lore wise (Well it has one but I figured I wouldn't put it in)
Updated mechanics -- the AI spawner now selects all the target points (Which are not being spawn in at current due to issues I don't know how to fix in UE4) this helps to take a load of the AI getting the target points every time. The problem with manually putting in target points is that you may see a lot of the AI flying in a line together especially when you increase them above 100 it is definitely high in the list of things to fix. You will now also be able to die in the game so watch out for the AI flying by and taking you out. If you re spawn the game will continue with the same points as and AI as before.
